Erica Riel-Carden is a Principal at Global Capital Markets, a boutique investment bank that specializes in middle market transactions. She provides transaction and financial services for emerging growth companies and investors in the food system. Her technical background spans agriculture, food, technology, & law. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Erica advised companies as a business attorney, and, she grew wholesale Ericaceous flowers in Northern Ohio. Erica received a B.S. in Agriculture, cum laude, from The Ohio State University and her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. She currently sits on the Advisory Board for the SCU Food and Agribusiness Institute and is a Mentor at the UC Davis Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She maintains FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities registrations and is admitted to practice law in California.
Seana Day brings over 13 years of investment, M&A advisory and technology experience to Better Food Ventures and the Mixing Bowl. Most recently, her roles in the food and ag landscape include Director of Strategy and Business Development at AgTech Insight, Fish 2.0 Associate and Managing Director at Centerra Capital providing Agribusiness investment advisory. Prior to her involvement in food and ag, Seana was a technology investment banker at AGC Partners in London, Ridgecrest Capital Partners in the Bay Area and Headwaters MB in Denver. Her background also includes Head of Restructuring and Operations at Versata Enterprises. She is now based in her hometown of Turlock, the heart of California’s ag-land.
