Cleantech. Renewable and alternative energy and clean technology companies represent the fastest growing segment of the economy and represent the largest industry segment of RoyseLaw’s transactional practice. We have advised companies in the businesses of solar, wind, geothermal, bio-fuels, and energy efficient technologies in connection with their formation, financings, joint ventures and technology transfer transactions. We regularly represent Greenhouse Capital Partners, LP, a cleantech investment fund, and in 2008 advised Stirling Energy Systems (a solar power company) in connection with its international investment. As the regulatory environment continues to evolve to provide tax and economic incentives to energy companies, RoyseLaw will continue to devote a large part of its practice to this important area.

Entertainment Group. Royse Law Entertainment Group provides consultation and services with a focus on domestic and international transactions, corporate finance and securities, and complex tax planning. The Entertainment Group, lead by Founder Roger Royse, advises motion picture, television, music, and media production teams, distributors and
performers; new media entertainment companies; and professional athletes.

Internet. Internet law is a rapidly evolving and e-commerce companies need creative advice in developing business models and implementing effective commercial strategies. We advise clients on a variety of issues ranging from domain names and intellectual property to on-line contracts, privacy and network security. We offer practical advice to clients in developing business practices to comply with a rapidly changing legal and regulatory landscape and to draft and utilize agreements through secure network infrastructures.

Life Sciences. The pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries are complex and highly regulated businesses requiring sophisticated representation in this challenging environment. Our clients require significant development funding and are regularly accessing capital and entering into joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensing transactions and mergers and acquisitions to strengthen their balance sheets, achieve their strategic goals and bring their products to market. We provide expertise to our life science clients with all facets of product development and their IP portfolio, including patent strategy, IP due diligence, in and out-licensing, joint ventures, strategic alliances and acquisition/disposition of IP assets.  Additionally, we provide assistance with contracting and the legal aspects of preclinical studies, tissue banks, clinical trials, manufacturing and product supply arrangements.

New Media. We represent new media companies in a variety of corporate transactions, including structuring and negotiating financings, investments, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. We also provide counseling in the development of intellectual property programs and contracts with employees and consultants and product licensing.

Retail and Service. We provide a portfolio of services to retail and serviced-based companies, including structuring and negotiating financings and mergers and acquisitions. We routinely advise and negotiate on behalf of our clients with respect to manufacturing, marketing and employment related matters.

Sports. We represent sports leagues with respect to all aspects of their organization, including facilities, funding, teams, players and game officials. We also provide advice on a variety of transactions and issues arising in the sports business, including joint ventures with new media companies, insurance, licensing, real estate and business contracts.
